We believe that creativity is essential for your mental health, and we are OBSESSED with jewellery, so we bring to you, jewellery making workshops using the wax carving process, where you can try your hand at making your own piece of jewellery, that you get to keep, and will last a lifetime once cast in sterling silver, or solid gold.
Wax?
Wax is an incredible tool for jewellery making. We use a specific type of hard wax designed for making jewellery, that allows you to make a model of your ring. You can sculpt, carve, melt, build and so much more, to create your desired effect, and at the end of the class, your model will be completed, where you can choose some gemstones or other additions.
Then, we take it away for ‘casting’ in your choice of silver or gold, which is the enchanting process that turns your wax ring, in to a metal ring! We will give you a more detailed brief of this during the class so you understand exactly how this happens.
Our classes are 3 hours long, and are designed so that you can make something that you have designed yourself, though we also have lots of samples and can chat through ideas with you, in case you need some more inspiration. You can always reach out to us before your class if you have questions about your design.
Who are these classes for?
EVERYONE! Whether you’re interested in making jewellery as a hobby, a new career move , or you just have the creative urge to make your own ring as a one-time activity, this is the perfect taster session for all of the above. Our experienced teachers will guide you through, step by step, and we are always open to offering further advice if you have questions about jewellery making, tools and courses. We don’t believe in gate-keeping, but we do believe in craftsmanship, and we think it’s important to honour traditional crafts and artists, especially in the digital world we now live in, plus it’s a great insight in to how the items you buy are created and the work that goes in to something hand made.

We love exploring creativity with you, and we’ve seen that these classes have a clear positive impact on mental health and self-esteem. Our customers often tell us that making their rings feels therapeutic. We are currently working towards offering community classes, for those who might not otherwise be able to access them, and further social work in the future.
